Nurses

Who we are

In mid 2008 NHIG evolved from a local NSW nurses network to one that encompasses nurses across Australasia and includes any registered or enrolled (Division 1 or 2) nurse working within the hospital in the home setting who is a member of the HITH Society (Australasia). To join, tick the Nurses Interest Group on the HITH Society membership application form or contact NHIG below.

The aims of NHIG are firstly to provide a setting where professional support, education, sharing and networking can occur among nursing staff employed in HITH care with a view to ensuring a high standard of care for our clients and their carers and to positively impact on the work satisfaction of HITH nursing staff.

What we do

Education

The NHIG plans and delivers education for its membership. PowerPoint presentations are distributed prior to education meetings and then discussed via teleconference across Australasia. Our current project plans are:

  • Use of the HITH Society website as a repository for presentations relating to HITH. This is in development and was also requested by our New Zealand membership which is in its early beginnings.
  • Future HITH Society Annual Scientific Conferences will host nursing specific workshops within the conference.
