This Grand Round provided an early national snapshot of how Hospital in the Home (HITH) services are currently structured and delivered across Australia, drawing on benchmarking data submitted by services from multiple jurisdictions.

Dr Iftah Amith and Dr Jenny Hutchison presented preliminary findings from the 2024 national HITH benchmarking project. The session outlined key characteristics of participating services, including models of care, staffing profiles, referral pathways, activity levels, and clinical scope. The presenters discussed variation across settings, emerging trends, and how these data can inform service planning, research priorities, and collaboration across the sector.


The session acknowledged and thanked the many services and individuals who contributed data and expertise to enable this benchmarking work.
