Dr Andrew Fuller, Infectious Diseases Physician and Head of Unit, and Lucy O’Connell, Clinical Nurse Manager, both from Alfred Health HITH, presented on their team’s approach to caring for people who inject drugs within a HITH program. Building on their prize-winning presentation from the 2025 HITH 17th Annual Scientific Meeting, they described the development of a structured multidisciplinary model, outlining patient engagement strategies, governance considerations, and collaborative partnerships that support safe care delivery.
